The Traveling Portfolios

These portfolios consist of photographic prints created using alternative photographic processes.  Alternative processes typically include those that employ much hand craft and are outside of the typical commercially available photographic processes.  The purpose of these portfolios is to promote study and critique amongst photographers working in the various alternative photographic processes.  The images presented here can provide a reminder but cannot reproduce the subtleties and qualities of the actual prints.  Thus the reason for assembling a portfolio to travel.

The first Traveling Portfolio was circulated in 1997, coordinated by Willard Korfhage.  The second followed in the Spring of 1998 and the third in the Autumn of 1998.  Responsibility for coordination was then passed to Dave Soemarko for the next portfolios in the Spring of 1999, Autumn of 1999, Spring of 2000, Spring of 2001, Summer of 2002 and toward the end of 2002.  Don Bryant became the coordinator for the portfolios assembled in 2004.  And in 2005, Robert Cockrell stepped up to the coordination responsibility.  Please offer big thank yous for the efforts of Willard, Dave, Don and Robert for making the Traveling Portfolio a reality.
